La lista completa de los Oscars para 2012, que este año es la celebración 84 ( 84th Academy Awards) y, para la meca del cine en Hollywood (al menos en ese lado del charco), es lo más preciado, ha sido anunciada hoy (via Oscars.com). La Academia americana de Pelis, Artes y Ciencia ha revelado la lista desde un evento esta mañana que se ha celebrado en el Samuel Goldwyn Theater dee Beverly Hills. Aparte de eso y que algunas reglas han cambiado, poco más debemos decir excepto resaltar que hay 9 pelis nominadas a la mejor peli, incluyendo The Tree of Life, The Help, Moneyball, Hugo y The Artist.
La ceremonia tendrá lugar el Domingo, 26 de Febrero de 2012 en el Kodak Theatre de Hollywood, con cobertura en directo propia de la ABC empezando a las 16:00 horas, hora del Oeste (California) de América. La invención de Hugo con 11 nominaciones y The Artist con 10 nominaciones son las películas con más posibilidades en los Oscar 2012. Los españoles estarán representados con Chico & Rita, de Fernando Trueba, nominada a mejor película de animación, y Alberto Iglesias competirá con El topo a Mejor música original en la ceremonia del próximo 26 de febrero.
En la lista, además de La invención de Hugo y The Artist, las películas con más nominaciones son War Horse y Moneyball, con seis aspiraciones cada una. Con cinco se sitúan la versión estadounidense de Millenium y Los descendientes.
De las nueve cintas que compiten a mejor película del año (es la primera vez en la historia de la Academia que compite tan singular número de títulos) las mejor posicionadas son aquellas cuyos directores también han recibido nominación: Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris), Michel Hanazavicius (The Artist), Terrence Malick (El árbol de la vida), Alexander Payne (Los descendientes) y Martin Scorsese (La invención de Hugo).
Meryl Streep obtiene su nominación número 17 por La dama de hierro y todo parece indicar que será este será su tercer Oscar, con la venia de Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Viola Davis (Criadas y señoras), Rooney Mara (Millennium) y Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn).
Entre los actores se plantea un duelo a tres entre George Clooney (Los descendientes), Brad Pitt (Moneyboall) y el francés Jean Dujardin (The Artist). Completan el quinteto dos sorpresas: Gary Oldman por el policiaco británico El topo y el mexicano Demián Bichir por A Better Life.
Dos de las sorpresas han sido la escasez de nominaciones de Las aventuras de Tintín: El secreto del unicornio,
que solo podrá competir por la música original (John Williams), así
como la entrada en la carrera por el Oscar a mejor película de Tan fuerte, tan cerca, la cinta dirigida por Stephen Daldry (El lector y Las horas).
Felicidades a todos los nominados, aunque nos faltan Michael Fassbender por Shame, Albert Brooks por Drive, Tilda Swinton por We Need to Talk About Kevin, entre otros.Vosotros, ¿qué pensais?
