Walter White puede que haya tenido un año duro, pero Breaking Bad ha tenido su mejor año. El drama de la AMC practicamente ha dominado los premios Emmy Awards de 2014 que se celebraron en la noche del lunes al martes, ganando un total de 5 premios incluyendo el de Mejor Serie Dramática. La única serie que ha ganado más estatuillas este año ha sido Sherlock: His Last Vow, pero incluyendo los Emmys de Artes Creativas que se le concedieron a principio de mes, más las que se embolsó en la gala de los Emmy Award.
En el apartado de comedias, los espectadores han seguido apostando por Modern Family, la cual ganó a la Mejor Serie Comédica por quinta vez consecutiva. Por suerte o desgracia, en estos Emmys parece que han tenido preferencia ganadores repetidores de otros años. Las cuatro mayores victorias en el apartado de interpretación ya habían sido ganadores en el pasado. Mientras que los nuevos de este año como Orange Is the New Black y Silicon Valley se quedaron en nada. Incluso True Detective se agenció un premio, al director Cary Joji Fukunaga. Al menos Fargo ganó a la Mejor Miniserie.
